• MUSINGS™ - "The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name." - Ancient Chinese proverb
- My mother was a stickler for correct grammar, and she instilled this trait, for good or ill, in her son. But I blame myself for the condition which causes me to mentally deduct points from someone who writes a reasonably coherent and flattering note to me online, and yet refers to me as a 'drawer,' rather than an "artist," or "illustrator." Of course, this is a relatively trivial thing. Still, I have not studied and labored all my life to be confused with a sliding compartment in a piece of furniture, or to be one "s" away from being labeled as someone's underwear.
And that's tonight's fruit of the loom.

Better than I expected, which wasn’t much, unfortunately. Some nifty stuff involving Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), some cool special effects. I like how they handled Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), particularly those sequences highly reminiscent of the Bronze Era comics. I still hate that

• MUSINGS™ - Of Early Beginnings, and Inspirational Words to the Artist -
- A friend's post in The Lunchroom group posed the question about what was the best advice we may have received on the way to becoming a good artist. My own personal journey towards that goal continues. But, thinking back, my answer was this...
I don't remember exactly where I heard it, or to whom it i

I believe the hands are just the secondary tool of Creativity, as part of the artist's body. Sometimes that secondary tool is the voice, as it is for singers, poets, and orators. Sometimes that secondary tool is the entire body itself, a moving means of expression for the dancer. The primary tool is the union of mind and heart, wielding imagination and passion, respectively. I think the issue could come from a bad translation. I used to call Artists "Drawers" cause I'm French.
In French our artists are Dessinateurs because they draw, they make drawings, des dessins... So they must be drawers once translated in English, right ? No...
I know it's not right and I are totaly right to remind the difference. ^^
