Many, many, many moons ago, when Malibu Comics was early in its existence, I was invited to illustrate a few of their DS9 covers. This was to be my last, as I moved on to other things.

The concept here, from what I can recall, was to tease three separate storylines within the issue. Sisko is the star of the show, so his subplot received prominence on the cover. I depicted him in a station holo-suite, mournfully reminiscing on the tragic loss of his wife at the hands of The Borg in the Battle of Wolf 359. I decided to include an image of the battle, along with the large head of Locutus hovering ominously behind Sisko. The two other storylines involved an incident with Keiko O'Brien's class aboard an endangered runabout, and a pickpocket on the Promenade, investigated by Quark and Dr. Bashir.  I took the liberty of including a couple of the others in the show's cast, characters who seldom earned a spotlight on the comic book covers, and those which I simply wanted to draw.  Because I had previously (and most unintentionally) slighted actor Alexander Siddig (Siddig El Fadil) by excluding him from the cover to issue #1, I sought to make some amends here.
