YOUNG JUSTICE: WENDYandMARVIN by Jerome-K-Moore YOUNG JUSTICE: WENDYandMARVIN by Jerome-K-Moore
WB Animation Character Design, YOUNG JUSTICE, Wendy Harris, and Marvin White. Pencil, Digital Color.

Well, with the accidental airing of the episode, "Targets," as well as its screening at San Diego Comic Con 2011, I suppose it's okay to post the designs for Wendy, and Marvin. I was assigned the task of adapting these characters from the old SUPER FRIENDS show, adjusting their original style (which was a bit more "cartoony") to more closely match the one set by Lead Character Designer, Phil Bourassa. Marvin always resembled Shaggy, from SCOOBY-DOO, so I preserved elements of that look for this version. Wendy seemed to take after Daphne, consistently striking a sexy stance in default position, and so I emulated that for this 3/4 turn instead of the standard pose.
As always, these are my own color selections, and they do not reflect the final selections used in the actual show.

Thanks for viewing!

*All characters depicted are the property of Warner Bros, and DC Comics

They work REALLY well in the show, in part due to your designs. Although I was half expecting them to enforce morals really heavily on their classmates like in the Super Friends.

"And so, Conner, we need to do our part in preserving the planet!"

"That's right, Wendy! Some simple steps you can take are..."

You get the point. Awesome work as usual.

No problem. Your work deserves much more praise than I can give it.

I loved the little shout out those two got in "endgame".

Thank you so much for all of your work on the show. I'm going to miss seeing your art on the screen every weekend, as well as Mr. Bourassa's.

Well, there's always reruns.

Wow! These really take me back! I was 8 years old when the original SUPER FRIENDS first aired, and I have always had a soft spot in my heart for these two (three actually, because Wonderdog completed the set.). Great job!

The Superfriends just never gets old. Sorta like Bruce Lee or Superman the movie, it stands the test of time by setting an unbelievable standard. As classic as Star Trek.
Long live the Superfriends.
