Description
WB Animation Character Design, YOUNG JUSTICE, Brick. Pencil, Digital Color.
In Episode 3 of the new series, Speedy confronts the criminal, Brick, on the waterfront. Although not a true supervillain of note, or stature, Brick still is possessed of superhuman strength and durability. My instruction was to design him very wide, and powerful, but to remember that he is a man of some intellect. He's not a boss, but he's not a thug either. Also, he is not like Marvel's Thing, so he is not composed of rock-like material. His is a freakish skin condition that resembles stone, and is incredibly tough. I decided to emphasize hard angles on his body in the line art. And here in my own color depiction, I've given his skin and eyes a reddish tinge to reflect red brick.
My color selections do not reflect those used in the final version from the aired episode. Here I chose to dress Brick in a color scheme which I think best suits him, in gold, and green, the representation of money.
Cheers!
