Comic Book Cover, Innovation Comics, LOST IN SPACE #3. Pencil, Ink, Brush, Opaque gouache. I have such fondness for this old television show, and was fortunate enough to befriend actor/musician Bill Mumy (Will Robinson). He wrote this short-lived comic series after fighting long and hard to get a publisher and the legal rights. Bill is one of the finest gentlemen I've ever met, and has a wonderful family of his own. His children (son Seth, daughter Liliana) have followed him into success in film and television.
In this piece, I incorporated elements of the early season episodes (the silver spacesuits), as well as the memorable opening from the final season... the animated pips behind where the title would go, and the 7 to 1 countdown that was always accompanied by John Williams' stirring theme music. |
