WB Marketing Art, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, Mandrake Root. Pencil.
As a professional illustrator, quite often it's possible to receive assignments that better resemble punishments. Such was the case when my art director asked me to fully render this image, back when I was on staff at WB Consumer Products. The reference provided was a blurry photo of the motorized prop from the film, which I was to illustrate in all its marvelously ugly detail.

Since I found this old Potter art, I thought I'd share it with you all, along with my memories, and my pain. I think I can still hear the screaming (my own).
