Illustration, WB Product Art, Harry Potter from Prisoner of Azkaban. Pencil.

The Potter films have gotten progressively better. Rarely does a film series EVER do that. LOTR, and X-MEN come to mind. Definitely SPIDER-MAN. STAR WARS foundered miserably, as well as THE MATRIX. Of course, no one can really ever be TOLD this. You have to SEE it for yourself. lol

*Update - The SPIDER-MAN film series has derailed with its third installment. Despite it's impressive box office tally, I feel that it was a vastly inferior film with regard to its predecessors. Shame.

Video games don't affect kids.If Pacman had affected us a skids we'd be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music
Whatever u do DON'T CHECK HIS GALLERY!>>>[link]
You're totally right! Sequels tend to be like that... with the exceptions you mentioned. However, I think I'll stick to the books when it comes to Harry Potter. But the portrait's great! Keep up the good work! :D :#1:

What can I say? You are I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E. You draw it so lifelike, you've really captured something there. I love the way you've drawn the hair. ^-^ *faves*

The bottom sentence is true.
The top sentence is false.
I disagree with the movies becoming better. I believe the 4th one could have been a WHOLE lot better. My favourite movie however is PoA. My favourite book is OotP.. and I just hope they don't butcher the movie version.

Great work! I love this drawing!

Thanks, OG5!

Whenever it comes to movies based on books, critical subjectivism really comes into play. Invariably, the filmmakers fail to match what the reader imagined, or they omitted a reader's favorite scenes. But a film adapted from literature is supposed to be how one person, the film director, envisions it (Please see my comment-reply to PhillyBee, on GANDALF THE GREY).

I'm considering the films as films, independent of the source material. As such, it's my humble view that they've increased in quality as the young stars have grown in their performance, production values have risen, and new directors have brought uniquely better vision. Even the musical scores have improved. The great John Williams saved his best for last when he scored THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, and Patrick Doyle did phenomenal work for GOBLET OF FIRE.

"Beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed... Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death."
I agree with you on the actors become more developed in their skills. They're amazing now and I hope to see them go above and beyond in the future. True, a director likes to see his (or her) perspective of things, but it would also be nice to think about the viewer. What would make this more thrilling? More captive? More imagery? Or more dialouge? No two imaginations are the same but there can be things that can bring everyones imagination into play at some point. The music is captivating, but as for me, I think I preferred Christopher Columbus.

Thanks for replying about this!
And you're welcome (as for the comment on the work.)

This is amazing! I love the level of detail and the solid strokes. It's a great likeness! :)
I love this style. You've made it kinda cartoony, but the likeness (is it called that) is still impressing. Amazing!
